Andy Griffin speaking in today's Journal: The former Stoke defender also said the constant sniping had united the dressing room and he dismissed talk of a spilt between the British-based players and United's foreign contingent.

He said: "There is not a major split between any of the players. We are a team and, if anything, when we are being criticised we are brought closer.

''It is our responsibility to turn things around and give the fans something to cheer about in the next couple of weeks.

"We have an important set of games coming up and, hopefully, we will prove a few people wrong over Christmas."

I agree Ciaa, hopefully the strange situation whereby the fans have actually started to voice an opinion, wakes the players up a bit. I hope they prove the doubters wrong as well!
