I suspect everyone's gone home for Christmas. First prize must therefore go to me for amassing an unassailable five points. Email me a cheque for £25000 forthwith. Cheers, and merry Crimbo!

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2000

Warren Barton - or is it Father Christmas?

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2000

Can I explode the myth of Alan Gowling attending university to read economics once and for all. When he signed for the Toon he was asked about his previous career. Sadly the press man doing the interview was rather old and hard of hearing so Alan's response that he had been a paper boy near Manchester University and spent his time reading comics was incorrectly reported and another urban myth began.
