I was out shopping at Toys 'r' Us yesterday, and, after prying myself away from the Scalextric, spotted the Subutteo stand. Latest edition has, wait for it, a picture of The Prince kicking Zola from sometime in '96 as the main piccy, and a piccy of Batty in the stripes.

If only it were so now.......

Well that brings back memories - of both The Prince and Subbuteo. A marvellous game and of course the game from which football was developed and invented. Surely the only game in history where the players are improved by having their arms amputated and their bottoms polished. (All right, I suppose Perez might benefit from the same treatment - especially the amputations).

I once saw a computer version of Subbuteo on sale (for a Spectrum computer). You know a simulation has made the grade when it starts to spawn simulations of itself.
