Good Evening, Mr. Polly,

I can't let it go...I just can't.

God! I wish I could! I've tried, I SWEAR I have...but everytime I walk away, I get an e-mail from someone that sends me back to the forum, and I get aggravated all over again!

: I think many TB2000 folks are hopeless ---untill they determine to flush the memes from their minds....then they won't need our help!

I respectfully disagree, sir. Well, at least I think a lot of people aren't hopeless. I think sometimes people just can't think of an alternative view until it's presented to them. At least, I know I'm that way fairly often. I usually have to have information from many sources before I can make a decision about something. And even then I don't always make the right choices! Some of those people are smart enough to be computer literate, and if showing them a better way, or shutting down the forum completely will keep them from doing the things you just mentioned:

"recruiting members to their anti-society causes, increase mistrust in TPTB, increasing their sense of importance via feedback from other forumn regulars...and of course profits from sales of whatever to those still into "prepping" Mister Polly, I think we all influence each other a little bit, and for the time being, I'm willing to give up my life to help some others. People did it for me! Paul Davis and cpr pulled me out of that rathole when I needed it, I'm hoping maybe I can do that same for someone else. (I hope I can help cinloo. She's a nice lady, who really is very intelligent.)

BTW...I think you said you were in Phoenix....bet the winters are nice and warm there....with or without someone nice to curl up and cuddle with! Yeah, the winters here are great. I sat outside in a park yesterday afternoon and feed some birds for a little while. I can't do that six months out of the year, but the weather sure is right for it now. I really hate being stuck in here with my computer when all that beauty is out there, but I don't think it's gonna go on much longer. I really do expect to be baking bread and taking long walks next week!

: P.S. The thought of fresh baked bread....reminds me of a scent that makes my mouth water!

Me too. Did you see that episode of MASH where the guy smelled fresh bread just before he died? I hope my death is as pleasant as that. What a way to go!

Best wishes to you too, sir

: Hello there,

: : I know how agravating the TB2000 types can be. However, I do think our efforts are better spent on more productive areas...like things that add to our happiness and pleasure. I DO understand the need to vent...catharsis is nice...especialy when they "delete" your side of the story! :

: : I think many TB2000 folks are hopeless ---untill they determine to flush the memes from their minds....then they won't need our help! Also, keep in mind that many have ulterior motives....recruiting members to their anti-society causes, increase mistrust in TPTB, increasing their sense of importance via feedback from other forumn regulars...and of course profits from sales of whatever to those still into "prepping"....or usefull as an on-line audience to market (to)....maybe this is why Yourdon hasn't capitulated clearly yet....he might still be figuring out how to milk the TB2000 marketplace one more time.

: : Anyway, I am a senior programmer/analyst in a mainframe shop. Wish you and everyone else well. BTW...I think you said you were in Phoenix....bet the winters are nice and warm there....with or without someone nice to curl up and cuddle with!

: : Best wishes,

: : Mr Polly

You know what's strange? When TB Uncensored started, it had this same pattern of regurgitating the past-it went away, and this will too.

I'm so confused.

But it's probably better that way -- I have a built-in excuse.

What U.B. said.....

(Thought we did that some months ago.)

I couldn't even make sense of the post, so I don't know WHICH page to turn. :)

Stephen, FWIW, I remember reading it when it was originally posted (way back when).

I didn't get it then either.

Fortunately (??), I have a whole host of other nonsense to keep me awake at night.

I heard that, Patricia, there are plenty of things to think about then ancient hysteria, I mean history.
