Ian Harte

NEWCASTLE UNITED had scouts in residence to watch Leeds United defender Ian Harte in his side`s reserve team game with Sheffield Wednesday on Thursday. The Whites drew the game 3-3, a match which saw midfielder David Batty make his long-awaited comeback, and The Magpies had officials at the ground to watch the Republic of Ireland international`s performance.

Harte has lost his place in manager David O`Leary`s first team, being replaced by Dominic Matteo at left back, but it remains to be seen if he would welcome a move away from Elland Road.

Harte would be a nice signing. His left foot would suit us just fine.

I wish... I'd be happy to get rid of Domi if Harte was the replacement. He's 23, gets forward AND can defend. I'm surprised he's even being considered as possibly leaving Leeds.

Haven't we said for a while that we need some "harte" in the team? No?

That taxi's taking it's time...

Guess YBR misunderstood that he was supposed to give the team a sheep's heart for Chrimble.

Mind sharing that cab, Bobby?

How does anyone know who a scout is looking at?

Who was playing upfront for Leeds on that occasion? An Ex toon player perhaps? Have you checked around the Leeds web sites for their latest gossip?

Sell Domi and use some of the money to buy this lad! Come on he'll play for us.

With Harte not even on the bench for United's last two games, and relegated to the reserves last week, the left-back must now also be wondering about his Elland Road future.
