less teams in the PL

In the light of remarks made this week about our players fitness and general level of athletic ability compared to that of the continent is is that unreasonable for the number of games to be reduced? If the Premiership were to be reduced to say 12-15 teams with all clubs having the option of taking part in various competitions. At the moment it seems like football is like the Real Estate market in the US, it is out of control and soon there lots of people will be losing alot of money.

If we reduce the availability of the product the demand and quality of said product will increase (I know it goes against economic principles) When dealing with something so delicate as a footballers fitness and with so many potential things going wrong this seems to be the logical step. I know it sounds like a superleague, but if the FA keeps the money in England surley it is the clubs that would benefit in the long term.

Isnt' the FA already under pressure from UEFA to reduce the PL to 18 teams?

It wouldn't be an altogether bad thing, but only for the PL itself. The rest of the Football League would have bulging divisions and crowded fixtures too. I think it's about time the Conference was made into division 4. Is it because those teams are semi-pro / amamteur that keeps them out?
