First chance I`ve had for ages to sit at the computer, and there`s not much activity. What is it? Christmas shopping? Pre Christmas Drinks? Mince pie, anyone? (:o)

Last time I was out with (the other) Fergie, I got middletoe lips. It's just starting to clear up now. :-)

So are you all off out and about this weekend doing Christmassy things?(:o)

In a sense. Friend of mine is having a little Christmas get together tomorrow night. Tonight I'm helping her with preparations. This means drinking beer while we bake and decorate sugar and gingerbread cookies. Since everyone at the do will be U2 fans, we're going to attempt to turn the gingerbread men into little Bono/Edge/Larry/Adam. Hence, the need to get pissed...we'll have an excuse for what will be the ugliest cookies in Baltimore. ;-))

I think I'm going to have to get a tree, write cards and buy one or two presents.

Question is, do I get a novelty tie / outfit for the department Christmas evening next Wednesday?

I hope the answer is "no".

I think we will have a nice quiet weekend. Don`t fancy our chances of getting booked in anywhere for dinner on Saturday, so, nice bottle of wine, big dish of giant prawns pan fried with lashings of garlic, nice fresh crusty bread for mopping up, light the Christmas candles (and the fire). Sounds like heaven to me!(:o)

Just about to make my way to the company party at the Park Lane Hotel which is always fantastic - as much champagne as you can drink from 6pm to 7.30pm followed by dinner, a piss-take review of the year and free booze the whole evening. Still recovering from a party on Wednesday with the boys & girls I used to work with - got so ugly I didn't make it to bed. They had an amazing raffle - prizes included 2 business class flights to Boston with a stay at The Bostonian, 2 business class flights to Washington, Euro Star tickets to Paris, laptops, palm pilots. I got very excited when when I won a prize, only to find I'd won sodding tickets to watch Chelsea v Boro (gas masks not included). This was obvioulsy fixed by my ex-boss and so I exchanged them with some stranger in the Dover Street Wine Bar afterwards for a couple of bottles of wine. Tomorrow night its a friend's birthday party and Sunday another friend's birthday drinks. Monday night is our department party then back home to Newcastle on Wednesday to start all over again. I just love Christmas -:)

Only free champers for 90 mins.....tightwads! you wanna get yourself a job for a decent company!

At least you don't make all the effort of getting a 70's kit together in the vain hope you'll look like one of the blokes from the Sweeny, then find out that half the guys from your new job's department are not going, having PAID $50 for the priveledge to bring your other half - who has also made the effort. I ain't gonna know a bloody soul and have a horrible 'Dougal-like' gloom sensation. Sorry Doog.

It just ain't Christmas over here......
