Has anyone read the bookgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread |
The Diary of Darren Tackle?I am about one third of the way through it and its is very funny.
Its the diary of the Premiership football player from a fictional (I hope!) club. Very funny well the first 80 pages have been anyway.

I sincerely hope it wasn't his name that attracted you Jay!

And what do you mean by that then?? :o)

It sounds like fun Jay - I`ll look out for that one. (:o)I could do with something `lighter` to read. I`ve just started on my last book from Christmas last year, `20th Century` by J. M. Roberts (I think they are the right initials). Very, very interesting, especially after the recent Clarky thread about `how we see ourselves`. I can only manage three or four pages a night, partly because it is so interesting and complex it`s quite hard to absorb all the information, and partly because after a very short while it starts cutting off the blood supply to my legs! (The only time I get to read books is in bed. My idea a sheer indulgence is to sit and read a book through the day - simple pleasures eh?)
So what else are you all reading?(:o)

Jay, I've read it - fantastic stuff. Must say though, the column in the Guardian sucks - it should be laid to rest. The author is also a Man United fan.

Ahhhhh lots of reference made to the blue scum. I thought he was taking about Everton. But it makes more sense now :)

Read that one earlier this year. Very funny. Not reading any books right now, just haven't had the time as I'm usually exhausted by the time I go to bed(my usual reading time). The Washington Post Sunday magazine has actually been taking up what little time I do read. Some fairly good articles and columns in it. Bettr than the usual Sunday paper dross.

No, but am dying to see What Women Want. Is that opening in the UK anytime soon? Not sure if I'll get to see it before I head over there.
