How do I enter my Maine Coon cat in a breed show?

Contact the secretary of the club sponsoring the show you want to enter to get a flyer explaining the rules, cost, etc. I am assuming you have your cat registered with the organization (CFA, TICA) governing the show and that your cat is not de-clawed. Complete the entry form and return it to the secretary with your check for the entry fee. You should have a copy of the rules from the organization so you know what to expect and how to classify your cat for entry. Include a note with your entry to let them know you are a newcomer and asking to be benched next to an experienced show person who can help you. Make sure your cat is perfectly groomed before the show and be sure to arrive early enough to get set up before showing starts. You will need to have cage drapes or an enclosed cage to take with you to the show. Also bring grooming and food supplies along with water from home. Good luck!
