This is a wondiful poem about a love in Poe's life. I think Annabel Lee is representing his first wife Virginia Clemm.

The poem “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe was first published in 1849. This narrative poem is written in the first person, spoken by a man who was once the lover of "the beautiful Annabel Lee." When the speaker and Annabel Lee were young, they loved each other. So great was their love that even the angels, who were "not half so happy in heaven," were envious of it. In their jealousy, the angels sent a chilling wind and killed Annabel Lee.[If you like these type of poems I would suggest reading more from Edgar Allan Poe]
