What CD for VCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I've just gotten into the burning of VCD and have problem. Using the Adaptec EZCD 4 I can burn a VCD. A standard CDR will not play in my Sony DVD player. A CDWR will. A (Maxell)Music CD will not work in the Sony DVD player. Am I stuck with using CDWR or are there some other changes I can make to allow a Music CD (Which I read should work) to play in the Sony. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same experience. What I know Sony DVD player wont work with CDR, unless it has been modified.

I thought I read someplace that there is a distinction between a regular ol' CDR and a Music CDR (Besides the fact that one costs 5 times as much as the other). True? Someplace also I read that a music CDR would work. Not true?
