I've just got a Vivitar bare bulb flash module for the 4600 flash body. I don't have the instructions for it and have Vivitar but no response yet.

It does flash but only at full power. Setting the flash body into an auto mode reduces the power with the standard head but not the bare bulb. May I have anyone familiar with this unit confirm it's operation? Is there any way to throttle down the power? Is one of the vari power gizmos needed? Is the hole in the front for a slave sensor (putting a screwdriver in triggered the flash).

I was dissapointed to find out the same thing you did. The bare bulb unit only works at full power.

THe instructions say that the "auto" mode works but not TTL. I have several but have not tried them.
