BR's hate mail!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

NUFC.com report ......" Bobby Robson has been receiving some unpleasant letters from irate fans recently, criticising his tactics and players.
Being a gent of the Old School, Bobby would no doubt love to respond to those people, but unfortunately they all appeared to have forgotten to add their addresses. Tut tut
".

That's most unfortunate - what on earth do these 'people' think they are achieving by slagging the guy off when it's clear for all to see that he's already down?
Poor performances, and effectively working with his hands tied behind his back, must be already causing him to wonder why he's putting himself through all this - but add hate mail on top of that ..................... Oh brother!

Par for the course Clarky. A sad indictment of the current attitude (in general) inthis country. Kick a man when he's down. Criticise him by all means, but don't let it get vindictive.

Typical of the increasing shitty attitude we are accepting as being the norm today I'm afraid.

Sorry to get on me high horse, but the Govt talk about rising standards in education. Bollox. Getting them to pass exams maybe, but values, manners, consideration for others, forget it with some, and there's bugger all I can do.

I'm always asked about changes in education in the 10 years I was in the Bahamas.Simple and obvious.More aggressive kids who demand rights without realising any responsiblity. 'Stink rude' as I would have said in Abaco.

So these letters dont suprise me Alan.T***s

Getting sicker by the week...... cant help but keep singing 'underneath the mango tree...'and think about Easter.

It is sad indeed. However, I'm sure that YBR has had to put up with far more during his managerial career abroad. I'm not so sure that the writers would necessarily be younger fans, though. As Gav pointed out (and as was audible post match drinking) there are plenty of veteran Mags who have unsavoury ways of voicing support.

Agreed. Sad indictment on some. I too have my opinions on some of these ex-international has-beens. I wouldn't go so far as saying its the current manager who's to blame.

We're in trouble - when it comes to qualifying for Europe. We may go freefall if something isn't done to sheer up the attack, as we have secured nothing substantial at the moment. It seems clear things are being done about that - nothing tangible yet, but it may come to pass that a convincing and threatening loan signing is to appear.

Relax, lads. We've seen a team that flounders in the past,we've yet to see one really flounder again. Results will come. Can you really see more than three teams worse than us at the moment? I don't. One 5-0 result doesn't make a season, remember a season mid-eighties when we were top after three games and got demolished by Man U?. Still finished respectably, but where we deserved to be.

Remember the 70's, when we would always come back from Burnley or Sheffield United 1-0 down? We'd still finish above them.

So, time goes on. We have had a brief flirtation with the higher echelons of European football, but nobody should suggest that is our rite, it is to be earned. Those days are gone now, and in the past they must remain (do I hear bagpipes?). I had no expectation higher than 13th in the table this year and would be happy if we achieve it again.

Its time, my friends, to suggest that our expectations of future Continental, even national, supremacy were too far, too soon. Sure, I'd be happier competing with the best in Europe and England and achieving the odd result, but I'm happy if we retain our current position. We're in the Premier League.

Don't expect miracles from Bobby so soon. After all, he achieved a minor miracle last year, keeping us up.

Makems...

It will be the same mackems who tried to spread some unlikely rumors via the internet about King Kev, when the toon were on the verge of (for a split second)Football domination.

They are worried that he could bring us in to line with his track record of success, after success. Well eventually!

Nowt more twisted than fucking someones moral and mental well being.

P.S. I think even the prawn sandwich football fan knows that it takes a little time to build a great team. Even they would consider all variables. mmmmmmmmmmm. Food for thought...........

THE SLIMEY, JEALOUS, BASTARD, MACKEMS.

And who is filtering his mail by the way?? Dont they see it as a SMB's trick?
