WASHINGTON, Dec. 13 — Concluding that the U.S. Supreme Court left him no choice, Al Gore on Wednesday decided to abandon his bid for the White House, sources with the Democrat’s campaign told news organizations. “The race is over,” one official who had talked to Gore Wednesday morning told The Associated Press. “We’re done.” The vice president planned a prime time television address to the nation to concede to George W. Bush, who remained out of sight at his Texas ranch.

Response to Gore aide: ‘The race is over’

I wonder what his speech will consist of. I wonder if he'll say that he could have kept fighting this thing, but because he is a patriot he will put the good of the country before his own knowledge that he has rightfully won the presidency.
