Makem's Game Rained Off

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

So sad. All that way only to be told on the doorsteps of Selhurst Park that it'd been rained off. Cry cry.

They're a bit touchy about it on RTG :-)

Oh no, not another great Mag Conspiracy Theory, I hope?

I'm not surprised they were upset. I mean, they'd gone to the bother of dusting down their snorkels, masks and aqualungs last used at SJP. Shame they didn't play actually - might have drowned in the mire.

C'mon Dougal......fairs fair.....a long trip to 'the smoke' for your average hackem is a day out at the Boro.

Ken, why have you started putting your age on the bottom of your postings?

Never known the RTG board to be so touchy, they wanted me banned (seriously) for suggesting there wouldn't have been that many Sunderland fans affected as it was only a League Cup game.

I laughed! Mind you I bet a few of you were at our West Ham game that got cancelled after we were in the ground a couple of seasons back. Complete disaster that one as it's not the easiest place to get to and the re-match was in mid-week... and we f%$Ģing lost(obviously!).

Nee sympathy.

Macca - it wasn't the constant use of "friggin' useless makem twats" that caused the contentious point?

-- Anonymous, December 13, 2000

I made it all the way down to Swansea only for the game to be postponed till the next day, and we bliddy won.

No, I've never used those terms about our dear friends, unless someone was impersonating me as TDC88, and therefore lowering the tone of the abuse. As I've resigned from their board as TDC88 I need a new monicker to continue the games, anyone help ? I (modestly) thought TDC88 was particularly good.

I must be dim - TDC88?

I have little imagination, hence my user name on RTG.

Maybe "Demon Hekey" - Monkey Heed?

Hmmm.... TDC= Top Dead Centre doesn't it? Or it uwsed to when I serviced my own bikes/cars.
