I'm sure the e-punching costs me time relative to others. With regular punches, I am usually quicker to punch and leave. But, with e-punching, everyone can punch quickly.

Technically speaking, the things you carry with you to e-punch in Sport Ident are called "dipsticks".

I'm not sure if you can buy one there. They would be sold by one of the mail order places. I don't know exactly who has them.

Dipsticks are of course available at any decent O' outlet along Route 66. And now dipsticks are starting to appear in pretty snazzy designs--soon this will be another hot collecting area.

You can buy one from the O retailers if there are any there. They must be pre-programmed into the system, so you should arrange to buy one in advance. The only question I would have being in Texas is "Can you smoke those things?"
