Thank you Beth, for the information. I dont know, I still think the tumor thing is more about bad writers than about an actors tantrum. There are 100's of ways to get him out.Considering that Mark is working with both Weaver and Romano, he has a million reasons for wanting out of County. And the same goes for Corday and Romano. They could have bring more conflict between Mark and Weaver, until he wanted out and find a new position (maybe going away with Liz) in a new hospital near St Louis (closer to Rachel). But nooooo....that's thinking too hard.

I admit I came across the same article. It said that Edwards was ticked off because TPTB didn't keep promises to let him direct. It didn't say anything about AE's contract, though. I thought he had 2 yrs. left? If he were to leave before the show ended, they'd almost have to kill him off, or else Alex Kingston would be forced to leave as well. Unless Mark and Elizabeth were to break up, which wouldn't be very believable. Then again, I'm not sure the writer's care what's believable any more!

The thing I find most unbelievable about this article is that it contradicts what Anthony said in an actual interview with USA Today just over a week ago,with regard to his contract as well as things said by Noah on Rosie recently. I also think the fact that they could not even get his salary right in the article ( what they quote is much lower than what has been widely reported for the last 2 years) and also that they don't know information from their so called "insider" that we on the net know about the next couple of episodes says something about the accuracy of the report.

It must also be said that what they are saying about Anthony's attitude does not fit with all the interviews I have seen with him, read about him , as well as interviews seen and read with other people who have worked with him.

I think the tabloids are just doing their usual job of having a field day with a storyline they dont have much information on, because, as they did with Sherry Stringfield's departure and George Clooney's return, the producers are keeping their cards close to their chest. If there is one thing the media hates it is not being told what is happening.

Well, I think if it was true then all of the news magazine shows like "Entertainment Tonight" and "Access Hollywood" would have reported by now. They love reporting stuff like this. So I highly doubt it's true. And another thing is didn't KM want her character to be killed off and supposedly was having problems to? I know some will say it's just coincendence that this is practically the same situation KM was in that AE is in supposedly now, but I have to wonder about that.

I saw a similar article in the current issue of Star magazine, with Kim Basinger on the cover, yesterday at the grocery store while waiting at the check-out line. They both are saying the same thing. I haven't watched "Entertainment Tonight" or "Access Hollywood" in a while so I don't know if they've said anything.

I don't think Anthony Edwards is going anywhere. He has a contract through 2004. In addition, he's the lead. The show has always revolved around his character, even when Clooney was on the show. Honestly. I don't think the show would last without him.

Actually, his contract expires at the end of the 8th season - May 2002.

He has already said in an interview (I don't remember where I read this) that he's not renewing his contract, so next season will be his last.

Well, when Mark leaves, I won't be watching anymore. What will the show be when we've lost four of the six original main characters (Susan, Doug, Carol, Mark)? I don't think Carter, Benton, and the newbies will be enough to hold me. Well, maybe Carter... :)
