Problems converting from video to VCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I recently had a recording converted from video (camcorder tape) to vcd. The new vcd checked out OK on my vcd player but when I sent to my friend in Jakarta, she had problems playing on her vcd player. The action kept stopping every few seconds. Her player plays commercial vcds with no problem. I now want to get a new recording converted from vhs. Is there any advice I should give to the video shop to make sure we don't have the same problem? Thanks

If YOU need to give them advice on how to make a proper vcd you should be having another shop make them. Either way, I would see if it plays ok an several players before blaming them for the problem. Then at least you have FIRM evidence that it is not HER player.
