Does the onboard flash on the new EOS 7 (7e) work with the 28-135 IS at the short end without the lens blocking the flash like the Elan II? caroly

A quick look at the camera will tell you that the flash is in the same relative position as the Elan II and just about every other SLR on the market. The shadow should not be expected to disapear with a new camera body unless Canon devises a way to get the flash way higher than it is now. The on board flash works fine at the long end and only gets objectionalble at the short end when focusing close. That's one of the dissapointments of larger lenses.
