Great to see a man with integrity and respect for his fellow sportsmen and women take the award yesterday. Steve Redgrave's words for Matthew Pincent were very moving. He's certainly one of this country's greatest athletes and nice guys.

Also good to see Robson alongside Al and Rob Lee. Also pleased to hear YBR's retort to Linekar about the Ingerlan' job. Anyone else hear Shearer's words of congratulations for the top 3 award winners?

I was appalled by the BBC's treatment of Tanny Gray Thompson.

At her first interview, two other Paralympians were seated on the sofas, whilst Tanny was reduced to sitting in her wheelchair a couple of feet below the level of the others. Utter disgrace!

Then even worse than that, she was given the third prize and yet again had to accept the award off the main stage, well out of the spotlight that she deserved. If any person in that arena had half a conscience, they would have lifted her up onto that stage, where she rightly belonged.

As a professional in the lambasted construction industry, every issue we ever come across has to be looked at in a disabled access way. How the hell did the BBC overlook this? Amateur!

Aye, I spotted that one an' all. Especially, as she wasn't even in the closing shots of the award winners, that's a real insult - the camera crews were obviously caught short with Alan presenting the 3rd place award.

You would have thought that after making so many references to the Para-olymipans' successes at least a selection of them could have been given the chance to be on stage and receive the deserved applause that the Olympic winners enjoyed.

DB....I spotted that too but it didn't surprise me....last year some BBC dickhead was interviewing Carl Fogerty from the audience....and then went on to say something like "win the World Championship next year and you could well be considered for this award"....and the look Carl gave him summed it up.....

Carl Fogerty..5 times World Champ...and fuck all recognition of worth.
