Unmitigated gloom!

The Journal this morning reports that Carl Cort has suffered a set back in his recovery. BR is quoted "Carl went down to Bradford to have his stitches out, but it didn't happen. The surgeon took one look at them and decided they weren't ready to come out".
"He has got to wait at least another week, and we can forget about him for at least another five weeks. First of all, his wound needed to be re-stitched after the operation, and that delayed the whole process. Now this happens, and we'll just have to hope for the best".

This follows previous word that Shearer's knee has not materially improved. The intention is for him to have a third and final cortisone injection this week in the hope that it will reduce the tendon inflammation to the point where he can play on.
While I'm not a medical man, I do have some experience with cortisone injections. Given that two previous injections have not cured the problem, it seems highly doubtful that a third will now prove successful in eliminating the problem. They are probably just hoping it will enable him to complete the season, and then get the problem sorted through surgery.
However, if this strategy doesn't work it's possible that we may have seen the last of him this season!

The Metro freeby has Bobby categorically stating there ain't no dosh. If that's definitely the case, looks to me like the suits have decided to brazen it out in the hope that we won't be relegated, but won't do anything worth writing home about either.

A period of consolidation ?
My asre.

High hopes ?
What effin high hopes ?

Hand on heart, can anybody see us doing owt in the Cup ? Sad as it might be, the only hope we seem to be left with is the hakkem bubble bursting, and there ain't too many signs of that happening, either. Everything that can go their way, is.

If I let myself think about it, I could get ever so slightly depressed, football wise, but depression is completely alien to my effervescent nature, especially now that the season of good will is upon us, so, stiff upper lip, chaps. Nil illegitimo carborundum.

What's an effective remedy for hysteria, please ? Anybody ?

"The Metro freeby has Bobby categorically stating there ain't no dosh."

But they've got enough to pay out dividends to themselves shareholders. Hmmmmmmmm.

The Final Dividend voted on at the AGM on Friday will cost the Club £3 million, of which the two major shareholders will pocket approx. £2 million.

If I'd been at the AGM I would have proposed that they donate their dividends to purchase Titi Camara from Liverpool or Lorenzo Amaruso from Rangers.

'... would have proposed that they donate their dividends ...

And I've no doubt whatsoever that they would have done so.

Der, my head hurts.

LOL. I had a really angry e mail from a more militant Toon fan saying that we are going nowhere, treading water and generally will do nowt until a buyer is found for the Hall shares. How much do you reckon we could raise?
