The Vermont Country Store

Do you all know about The Vermont Country Store? I know they have an actual store, but I know about them from their catalog. They have many "old time" products. I just discovered they are online, if you want to take a look:

They send out wonderful free catalogs too, but I am a bit upset at them. They discontinued the tall, larger ladies' cotton tights that I wear, and they were the only place that I could find that had them!!! The were wonderful for school or church, warm and soft and long lasting, and they aren't selling them!!!!! I'm whining. BUT.... Their service is good, and they have good, practical, if sometimes a bit pricy, stuff.

I love to read their catalogs too, but their stuff is WAY too overpriced !!! Most of what they carry can be had, or special ordered, from the Amish supply stores, specifically, the Spectors chain of Amish supply stores, see if you can find one nearest where you live to get what you want at a far better price. I know there is one in Middlefield, OH. Annie in SE OH.

LeAnn, you might try contacting them. I know they've brought things back if there is enough outcry about them discontinuing things.

Annie would you mind posting the numbers for the Amish supply stores ?

THey do have a wonderful catalog, and I have purchased lots of stuff from them over the years. However, buyer beware as usual. I bought a toaster cuz mine was shot, and it was advertised as an old-fashioned kinda all steel one that would be the 'last one you will have to buy', but some of the knobs are plastic, and they are now breaking. Spose I shoulda returned it when it arrived. Also bought some plastic dish covers, you know to use instead of plastic wrap....and the elastic wore out really quick, and I always washed em by hand in gentle soap. Those were my only complaints though...

Patty, I'm sorry, I don't have any phone numbers handy, it would be in directory assistance though, or perhaps Craig Miller could stop by, or already knows of it. Try contacting him, and asking. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! Annie in SE OH.
