If only...

We could sign a female striker...or manage to hide her sex from the FA. Just finished watching US v Mexico women's friendly and reminded yet again what a fantastic player Maribel Dominguez is. A striker, tough, energy for days, and mouth 10 times bigger than her tiny frame. Think of a combo of Shearer's toughness, Dyer's pace....not sure who to compare her commanding presence to. She is the exception to the theory that forwards don't make good captains. When she wasn't geeing up the other players, she was geeing up the crowd...especially after her goal pulling Mexico level with the US. First time Mexico had ever scored against the US, and even managed to get ahead for about 10min. She's as much of a spitfire off the pitch too. My ears still ring at the memory of her geeing up the players in the dressing room last summer. Maybe we could get her in to provide a lesson in inspiration to our lads? Or even have them watch the game tape as a lesson in battling against "superior" opposition.

Anither bliddy Latin American? Sounds like she should fit in very well then, along with the other 11 girls' blouses that played on Saturday.

Actually, is there anything in the rule book to say an English club could not play with a woman in their side?
