Thanks for being the news ticker, ITK. Tried gettign 5 Live on the web, but it's blacked out right now.

So with us and the hackems getting home draws, will they let both our games take place the same day?

-- Anonymous, December 10, 2000

I don't know about their game but I reckon ours is pobably destined for wither the BBC on Sunday afternoon or Sky on the Monday.

Theirs is not quite so clear cut....getting drawn against Palace...any suggestion of TV coverage would probably depend on what kind of game they have in the Worthington at Selhurst Park.

Aston Villa? That's a hard one. We couldn't we get Peterborough or something? Feck it.

To be honest Roxy I reckon its a good draw.

I'd rather have Villa and a good game than some of the banana skins we have slipped on over the last few years......

At least if you go out its to a 'good' team and not to Hereford, Walsall, Bright, Bath, etc etc etc.

Please please please please please play this on the Saturday!!!! I can take the bairns..... lucky mascots!

Problem is we're better away from home this season ;-)

To be honest, I don't think this is a good game for telly - it's just another prem fixture. On telly I want to see proper cup ties - Carlisle v Arsenal, Morcambe v Ipswich, even Fulham v Man Ure.

Ahhh, this is last years final that never was. That's the sum total of my interest in this competition this year. We need to concentrate on the Premier League, and on building a better team. No doubt we'll lose 3-1.

Roxy

You've not been around long then Roxy? My first match at SJP was the FA 3rd round in 1962. At home to - Peterbro. They were in Div 4 and having their first season as a league club. Needless to say, Posh won 1-0.

No, I'll settle for Villa at home thank you very much.

Jacko - agreed. Sadly, the powers that be seem to regard all-Prem ties as the big ones. I think that's bollocks - you can see Prem teams play each other every week. As you say, the real 'ties of the round' are the inter-divisional ones. I assume there's a live game on ITV and one on Sky - surely Fulham v Man U, and.....?

Derby/Baggies was the tie that caught my eye.

-- Anonymous, December 10, 2000

I said BBC earlier on, but of course our contract doesn't start till next season.

There will be one ITV and two Sky matches.

Most matches will be played on the Saturday with one on ITV at 1.00pm on the Sunday, Sky at 4.00 on the Sunday and Sky at 8.00pm on Monday

I reckon they will do Fulham/Manure on Sunday Sky, Carlisle/Arse on Sunday ITV and us on Monday Sky......but then again, as my good friend keeps point out....what the hell do I know, I'm only a part timer. 80)

Two years running with PL opposition in 3rd round. Hmm.

-- Anonymous, December 11, 2000

Sorry folks, It's Spurs' year, as the cup final will be played with a year ending in 1. History repeating, 91, 81, 61 etc.
