"....."It's really easy to misspend in IT," said Dr. Leon Kappelman, director of the Information Systems Research Center at the University of North Texas in Denton. "It's easy to pay attention to solutions that may not be related to problems."

AND ***WHO** WOULD KNOW BETTER ABOUT "may not be related to problems"????? LINK

But a University of Texas at Austin study released this fall concluded that companies that have implemented broad and well-planned electronic- commerce strategies are more likely to enjoy a strong financial performance.

"If they get into Internet investments, they need to do it whole hog," said Dr. Andrew Whinston, director of the school's Center for Research in Electronic Commerce.

Aside from......".....director of the Information Systems Research Center......", not toooo much. Certainly not with any Y2k work (BIG GUFFAW). He has been working the media he cultivated during the Non- Crisis.

But over 90% of his C.V. is filled with his Y2k "papers" many of which are copies and re-writes of each other. The rest of his "body of work" is not too thrilling.

Brings to mind the old commercial, "where's the beef?"

Which is a question few of the Y2k "Pundits" can answer even after scanning the globe looking for "glitches".
