One person has been killed after a private plane crashed in Lincolnshire, it has been reported.

The plane came down near to the road between Market Rasen and Louth at about 1330GMT on Saturday.

The plane - a former military aircraft - was being test flown from Hull airport by someone who was interested in buying it.

It is believed that at least one of the two pilots ejected from the plane before it crashed.

A second person has been flown to Hull Royal Infirmary, but it is not yet known whether they were seriously hurt.

The accident comes less than a week after an 11-year-old girl and her father were among four to die in a plane crash in Berkshire.

Eyewitnesses to that crash described how a wing had been ripped off and the plane had spiralled to the ground as the pilot struggled for control.

That aircraft had been on a pleasure trip from an airfield near Andover, Hampshire.
