It's bright and sunny in London this morning....light and fluffy cloud but not much to worry about YET!......not to badly cold for Deecmber.

Feel free not to contribute Min......we know about your sun tan....I never did like you!

Its what I would term in the NE of Scotland, "Ideal football Weather", nee wind, slightly overcast, after yesterdays rain the pitch will be a bit skitey on top, tek a stud, (Get back Gav),

Re Amaruso Ken, I posted two weeks ago that if availible the guy would be Toon Material, lack of concentration and thinking he is a lot better than he is has made him the butt of many jibes, hey the lad never hides and a gut feeling says that Lorenz0`s Gold lies with Newcastle. The only bluenose that Newcastle have been identified with is Rod Wallace who is well down the striking pecking order 5th.

The Dyer issue on here confuses me, on one hand we have people within the game, managers/players, also oppo supporters (Villa) who really rate him and Softie on here amongst others who feel he is not pulling his weight. I respect Softies knowledge of the game but aka Shearer, "Is the rest of the footballing public in the country" telling us something in football terms we as so called knowledgeable fans should already be aware of. The way I see it is, Dyer served his time at Ipswich , For 6 mill in my books you get 6 months to settle down, adjust to the Premier and take it from there. He is a good player IMHO, but he would be a great player in a good team, in a defined role, surrounded by players of similar ability. In a team that struggles to dominate, surrounded by players of lesser ability albeit that they work harder, at 20 years of age, like it or not, this is not his game,he will never battle, takes all kinds to make a team, blending it together is the hard part, YBR is way off at the moment. he knows it. we know it, certain players are aware!!!

Point of Order to Clarky` In a discussion with Jonno on another thread you had the gall, nay twice nay to mention amongst others Eatham and Allchurch , no mention of Len White of whom Johhny Haynes stated "The greatest footballer never to play for England", this after a football league game when Len popped away 5 goals, JH doing most of the supplying. I played against Fulham and Haynes many years ago, suffice to say that there was this wee ginga inside forward from Glasgow playing for The Royal Highland Fusiliers who gave me more trouble, hear ya all later on the match thread

Buff,

Apologies for omitting to mention Lenny White, who I did actually see once or twice as a nipper sitting on the wall at the front of the Leazes End - but wasn't really sophisticated to realise how good he was.
It certainly wasn't intended as a slight to LW, I was simply trying to demonstrate the background to my beginning to support the Toon.
Can you just imagine what a forward line of Eastham, White & Allchurch would be worth in todays money? Frightening.

If Len White was a nipper and was sitting on the wall at the Leazes End then Clarky must be older than we thought.....

Well spotted Ken, lol ,

Eastham did not relish the tackling game either did he Clarky, as I said above it takes all kinds, Dyer?

You're right Buff - but Eastham contributed to the full in so many other ways.

To be honest, I only saw him play for the Toon a couple of times, but my memory of him is of a silky smooth player, terrific on the ball.
