Elections Part One - Nominations

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

Nominations will now take place for the following positions:

Regulation Coordinator, Tournament Coordinator, * Three Knockout Coordinators

* = This is pending on wheater or not Chris wants the knockout tournament MARP binding. This has nothing to do with Knockout Tournament 1, this has everything to do with Knockout Tournament 2. I will procede with nominations however.

Regulation Coordinator rules: One coordinator. One-year term. A member can nominate any number of players. A member may NOT nominate himself. The person nominated is responsible for emailing myself or mentioning on the board if s/he will accept the nomination. The coordinator's term will begin on January 1, 2001 unless extra votes prevent it, and expires on December 31, 2001.

Tournament Coordinator rules: One coordinator. Two-tournament term.(under current tournament rules, eight months) A member can nominate any number of players. A member may NOT nominate himself. The person nominated is responsible for emailing myself or mentioning on the board if s/he will accept the nomination. The coordinator's term begins on January 1, 2001 unless extra votes prevent it, and ends at the expiration of the second tournament of his/her term.

NOTE: Pat Laffaye is still judging coordinator regardless of this election.

Knockout Coordinator rules: Three coordinators. Maximum of one editor. One-tournament term. A member can nominate any number of players. A member may NOT nominate himself. The person nominated is responsible for emailing myself or mentioning on the board if s/he will accept the nomination. The coordinator's term begins five days after the first tournament expires unless extra votes prevent it, and ends at the expiration of the tournament his term was for.

In all cases, failure to mention acceptance/rejection of the nomination means you rejected the nomination.

Nominations will last five days and so it will expire on December 13, 2000 at 10am eastern, or 1500 GMT.

Acceptions/Rejections will last eight days and so it will expire on December 16, 2000 at 10am eastern, or 1500 GMT.

During elections, a nominee is to have a majority vote to be elected. An abstination vote counts as a no-vote and does not count toward the majority. If a majority is not attained for one person, the people with 0 votes AND the least votes greater than 0 are eliminated. Another vote will then be called. For three coordinators, if one person has a majority vote and the next two highest vote getters do not, then the majority voter is elected, the people with 0 votes AND the person with the least votes over 0 are eliminated. Another vote will then be called.

Elections will begin December 17, 2000 at 0000 GMT and will last seven days and so it will expire on December 23, 2000 at 2359 GMT.

Gameboy told me to nominate someone, so I will...*g*

Regulation Co-Ordinator: Ben Jos Walbeehm

Tournament Co-Ordinator: Lagavulin

Knockout Co-Ordinators: Skito, Pat Laffaye, J.D. Lowe

Why can't I vote for you, GB? =) Seriously though, quite honestly, I really wouldn't have to worry about them, but with these people, everyone else should be in good hands.

Way To Go yo mamma... you got nominated! Woohoo!

OK - I'm a bit surprised that I have to nominate BBH as regulation coordinator... but that's what I'll have to do :)

I guess I'll plant a third nomination for Pat Laffaye for tournament coordinator.

Since I'm not involved in the Knockout, I will not place any nominations on the floor there.

BTW... thanks for the nomination Matt... but since I'm going to see all the secret ballots and since I don't have time to run the knockout tournament, I will have to reject that nomination. (and I'll reject all nominations... just so everyone knows)

J.D. Lowe accepted the Regulation Coordinator and Knockout Coordinator nominations over IRC.

Barry Rodewald accepted the Regulation Coordinator nomination over IRC.

Ben Jos Walbeehm accepted the Tournament Coordinator nomination over IRC.

That's all I have here. Thanks for your participation in this very important matter. GB9

Regulation Coordinator: Skito For the two other categories, those I wanted to nominate are already nominated ...

Lagavulin

-- Lagavulin (darre@cybercable.fr), December 09, 2000.

You see, Petey, this is why I should be dealing with the votes. I don't WANT a position on here (I won't have time for one), and so you (as, arguably, one of the more qualified people for these positions) would be able to take the nominations of yourself without any threat of a conflict of interest.

Waiting for .37b11 to come out...
