Goma to West Ham? Ha Ha

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

A fair few reports that if Goma wasn't injured West Ham would have mad a bid for him.

I would regard that as an insult if Goma decided to 'further' his career at West Ham and not NUFC.

Best bit was his agent describing his next move will be to a "big city club"...naturally, Upton Park is as glamorous as it gets!

West Ham might not be particularly glamorous, or WHU a glamorous Club. However, whether we like it or not a lot of 'johnies' like to live in London - which just about qualifies as a big city, and thereby WHU is a "Big City Club".

Personally, I don't give a rat's @rse where Monsieur Goma plys his trade in future - one treatment room is much like any other, I guess.

Actually, the more johnies who want to live in Lahndon the better for me - without being xenophobic about this, it increases the chances of getting back to a Toon team full of Geordies/Brits with character, bottle and commitment.

>>Brits with character, bottle <<

Assume that you are talking about the likes of Adams & Gascoigne?

Well, unfortunately the two do tend to go hand in hand. I actually meant "bottle" on this occasion!

Find a decent young left back and we can make do with Griffin, Caldwell, Hughes and the new lad.

They may make mistakes while they leanr more but at least we know they won't be sitting in the treatment table when they can be on the pitch.

Goma has impressed me this season, whether he wants away or not, he has played well, Marcellino howeve, is a different matter.

Hopefully the club realises that the success of foreigners at NUFC hasn't really been great up till now and in the future we'll have a few more British lads in there.
