Damn. I am trying to link to a picture in my photo.net portfolio. Here is the text.

First off, The link that you are trying to include is not a simple link to a file, so it's not surprising that it doesn't work.

Second, the road is the subject here, and a road is clearly an example of the "hand of man." Did you read the posting guidelines?

It is more a dirt path. There is no concrete or ashphalt. I did read the requirements and didn't think that it would violate the "hand of man". It is more a photo of the fall colours.

Roger,

I think this is a good image. I especially like the way the path leads the eye into the photo. I think it might be improved by more favorible light. I find that high overcast creates less contrast. Nice exposure though, given the circumstances. Don't be discouraged by those who have more fun nitpicking about rules than actually offering constructive criticism. I, for one, am bored by such comments.

Next time go to the page where your photo is and then right click on the photo to get it's properties and copy the url from there, not from the address bar of the page.

The composition is nice; Since most of the road is in open shade, the contrast and coloring are pretty good. I also like the shafts of sun on the leaves at the far end of the road. Probably the only distracting thing about the image is the patch of blue sky showing through the trees on the right.

Regarding my "hand of man" comment, we've had pictures of sailboats, fences, etc., show up here lately. In this picture, the title is "Fall Road," so it seems to me that the road is clearly the subject.

Yes, it is a borderline call. And no, pointing out stuff like this isn't "fun."

BTW, looks like there were some nice ferns among the leaves where you took the picture. Did you take any pictures of the ferns and fall colors?
