Why my VCDs play Ok in a PIONEER DVD and donīt play at all in OTHER DVDs. Any regional setting? CD I setting? Help!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I burned my own VCDs which play perfectly on my discotehque DVD PIONEER (canīt remember the model) device. I gave the VCDs to some friends whose DVDs devices are other branches (One is other PIONEER), and they werenīt able to play the VCDs at all. Even more, the devices donīt detect the CD R at all. Can be any regional setting? Can be CD I option? Can be any problem with NERO burning tool. MPG 2 format instead MPG1? Any problem with de directories in the finished CD r. mpegav directory or other? PLease, any help will be really welcome. HELP! Cheers Federico

If you want to be able to create your own VCDs and play them on your DVD player, you'll need a DVD player which can read CD-R or CD-RW discs. Pionner with twin wave laser pickup (for example 525 or 535) play VCD, XVCD and Super-VCD. No regional setting for VCD. Panasonic, RCA, Samsung, and Sony models play Video CDs too. Toshiba players older than models 2100, 3107, and 3108 don't play Video CDs.
