Answers

Cottage in the Lakes from 21st-27th. Then either up to Stirling to visit the in-laws for New Year or off to Newcastle to visit me mam. most likely just an overnight trip to Stirling so will be in the Toon for New year.

I may also be having a small beverage at some point. Hoping to get to the Man U match and hoping for a home draw in the FA Cup!

Out on Christmas Eve with my mates on our traditional fellas but all the drinks night.

Christmas day (fit with hangover) at my house with my parents and the cat.

Boxing day nice lie in then off to an all day party.

Haven’t quite worked out the rest of the week or New Year’s Eve yet.

Geordie..where about in the Lakes mate? I used to live there.

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

My parents will be visiting Japan, one of the few places where December 25 th is the same as any other day (it's not very Christian). Should be good to see them as I haven't seen them for about 2.5 years.

LR, Ambleside this time. About 25yds from The Golden Rule!

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

Having my mother and younger brother to stay, and parents in law for Christmas Day itself. So with our 3 year-old and one year-old, it'll be a nice , peaceful relaxing Christmas....well, it should be fun anyway, if my wife stays sane. Christmas becomes a spectator sport when you've got kids - you kid yourself that you're doing it all for them, but really it's so you can enjoy their reaction to it all.

I lived on Millans Park...behind The Sportsmans. My Bike Club is Salutation MCC - Ambleside.

The Rule's cool....lockins-a-plenty. They also have bunk houses out the back at about 4 squid a night...but you'll find the rats are on stilts :-)

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

The Rule is great as it a) doesn't have music b) has nice fire c) has nice cheap beer d) no food (well an odd pork pie on the bar maybe). People actually talk to eachother in there.. no duke-box distractions. A proper pub!

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

Yer right...it is a real pub. The Royal Oak isn't that bad but you can shove Churchills up yer arse

.....Ever done Dungeon Ghyll?

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

The Old Dungeon Ghyll.. . of course! A regular starting point for circular walks over Pike O' Blisko, Crinkle Crags etc. I always fancy actually lodging there but it's f^%%ing expensive for 4 of us!

I like the Britannia Inn, Elterwater... another good stopping off point with some good falling over juice.

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

FCKU me!! The ODG as a STARTING point?.....I always figured Geordies to be loonies :-)

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

errr that's a starting AND finishing point!

That poor Toon Dog looked as if it was enjoying every minute of that photo session.

Christmas Day, sitting at Dulles airport impatiently waiting to board my British Airways limo across the water.

Boxing Day, dropping my bags at my hotel and off to the Strawbeery to meet up with bbsers, then off into SJP clutching my ST for the first time, post-match bevvies, then back to my hotel to pass out from jet lag.

Day after Boxing Day, off to the shops to hunt down a 2001 Toon calendar.

Haven't thought much beyond that, though there have been rumblings of a piss-up during the week at some point....Susie, Steph, Dougal??? ;-)

Coming back up North on the 23rd ,Christmas with the folks, take in the Leeds and Man U games and back home for our New Years bash!!

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

Flying in on the 22nd for my first Christmas in the Golden City since I was a bairn. And thanks to Min I'll be cheering the Toon on against Leeds on Boxing Day. I'm looking forward to seeing all the usual suspects in the Strawberry before the match. Then I'm off back to France again on the 29th, via Bristol.

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

I'm giving up answering silly bliddy surveys.

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

looks like I might be working....well not exactly working since theirs FUCK ALL TO DO here but attending since someone seems to think they need testers here just in case something breaks.....possibly so I can sit and look at it and say.....yup, that's broken......

Fuckwits or what!

-- Anonymous, December 07, 2000

LOL Windy! Thanks, but mine come ready made with a black and white strip!(:o)

First Christmas as a family. Have to get a little b & w Santy hat for the sprog (no red and white shite in wor hoose!) and maybe a nip of something tasty in his cow and gate when the missus isn't looking (and up all night with his bellyache as a consequence no doubt). Wrinklies coming to visit on Boxing Day or day after but I shall be too busy celebrating a handsome victory over Leeds (including a red card for loathsome Alan Smith hopefully). Hopefully I won't have to wear a Christmas bloody sweater this year...

Have to go and visit the gusette and the former Mrs gus, then out for lunch.

Then take the current Mrs gus to the beach, it will probably be about 35deg C.

Then out for dinner. I suppose I will be watching all the Christmas episodes of everything and hoping for one of our matches to be on the telly.

I really really really HATE Christmas. I will probably sit here waiting for someone to log on.

-- Anonymous, December 08, 2000

Travelling up 23rd with missus, daughter and her fella (daughter's), staying Druridge Bay area. Taking in both games. Can't wait - I will have finished my last ever lecture on BCH codes and the future waits.

-- Anonymous, December 09, 2000

For Buff read spud - still its day-shift - if we switch off the gas, BAAAAAAAAANG goes your Turkey and Trimmings, even tho industry is closed so to speak, est on Xmas Day we will only drop 10mill to 40 million cubic feet gas throughput, at 3 and a half mill a day profit.
