I have a barebone system: Matrox Mystique Raibow Runner combo.

My Matrox captures the video, edit it inside Ulead's Media Studio Pro ver 5 (I've read decent reviews about the newer version).

Then convert the rendered *avi to mpg.

From there - NTI CD-Maker 2000 Professional Edition can do the job for to burn the video clips by simply dragging your video clips.

Well, the simplest way is to buy a VCD player/recorder. Many do not know that this thing exists. Check it at www.goterapin.com It costs only 499$ and work as simply as a VCR. One thing I do not know is the recording quality. Considering the VCD quality issues seen in this forum, it is wise to check on the quality of this machine. ktnwin

You can use a TV tuner or high performance VGA card that has video capture capability. Make sure you record in VCD format (MPEG1), then use Nero CD burner or Adaptec make VCD. vietoxnard.com offers the service for $20 per tape to VCD, or $49 for DVD.
