Washington (Platts)--5Dec2000

Beginning this month, Wisconsin Public Service Corp. customers will pay an additional 17% more for gas. The cost of gas passed on to consumers rose to 92.42 cents/therm from 78.84 cents/therm. In December a year ago, the price was 58.99 cents/therm. A residential heating consumer who uses 150 therms of gas will pay $50.14 more a year. Pat Fox, superintendent of gas supply and transportation for WPSC, said about a third of the company's gas supply comes from storage. The stored gas has reduced the effect of current high gas prices, he said.
