Hi everybody,Following information I got via an email from this group: ******************************************************************* I'm using the dazzle dvc II and I record mpeg2 at 720 x 480 at 6000000 bitrate at 29.97 fps allows 35 min of video on cdr. To get a hour show on you need to drop the bit rate to 3500000 which gives you 50 min of video. play around with it. The player plays mpeg1 files too. ******************************************************************** This info. is right? The author claims that APEX AD600 DVD player will play raw MPEG1 and MPEG2 files without using any VCD/SVCD authoring tool. Just copy the MPEG1/MPEG2 files into a CDR/CDRW using any CD writer programs.
If above info. is right, I am glad, I do not have to use any lengthy encoding or authoring methods!!. EXPERTS.. PLEASE HELP….
Thanks,

nope, wrong. you need to use CD authoring/burning software that will create the VCD format. DVD/VCD players expect a specific format, you can't just arbitrarily burn MPEG files to CDR and expect the DVD player to play it. from your post i don't think the email info you got implies that you don't need VCD authoring software.i recommend using Nero. it's vastly superior to Adaptec's Easy CD Creator.

Sorry Kevin. I have an Apex 600a DVD player and yes, it will play SOME mpegs copied to CD-R WITHOUT having been authored to VCD orSVCD! I've done it myself. You have to experiment to find out which mpegs will play, but some will.

This one is for Kevin, I am using Nero 5.5.7.2 to encode my good quality avi files to mpeg then VCD but the final project has poor quality, it pauses and skips often How can I make them better quality?Thank you keida
