how do i know which vcd or svcd.

is there a sign indicate that this vcd or svcd. how do tell different. im now in asia country, there is a lot of vcd sellers. they sell vcd(stamped) which here are called pirated copy. pls let me know the different. thank you.

It should be on the cover or disc. Anyway, SVCD are more expensive than VCD since it has to use 3 discs for a movie (SVCD can only put 37 mins. playtime per disc). Most SVCD material are old and not readily available. They are also licensed copy. Pirated discs are always subtitled in Asia, in Chinese or English (if DVD copy) and often with a logo of the pirate company burned into the pictures. Some are shot from cinema screening or produced from a demotape (with piracy warning even, hahaha. Perhaps only 1% are collector's items. If you don't mind all these imperfections, enjoy yourself.
