The basic theme was that of his wife because of his drinking they were forced to live in barn in the middle of winter in NY. when he talks about the cold wind taking her away and stuff she got turboculosous from the cold and later died from it.When he says a castle by the sea the barn was by a lake. When he says people don't understand because of the age thing his wife was 13 when he married her. I hope this helped a little if it is not getting to you to late.
