not compliant during burn (nero burn software)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

1st of all i'd like 2 sez sorry if this ques been asked before.using nero 2 burn vcd on 2 a cdr, an error stating that not compliant, so i disalbe the funtion and progress with the burning. end result played on a stand alone vcd player , a picture cant see but had sound. totally failure. so i wonder, 2 overcome this problem, do i convert the source dat file 2 mpeg file first then burn? another problem was blockiness. the source dat file had blockiness, can i use repairmpeg software 2 repair it. could it be the blockiness that caused the burn 2 had an error during the process? thank you.

How was it "uncompliant"?? did it say something about the framerate being 24.97fps ?

also, the blockiness. What kind? is it random color blocks that appear, or is it just part of the movie? if it is part of the movie (ie just a bad encoding) then there isnt anything that can be done about it (someone correct me if im wrong, but i think im right). if it is random colors (ie "artifacts", that indicates errors in the file.). you can redownload/encode to correct these assuming that the original source didnt have them also.

1st of all , if you have an error saying not compliant dont burn it to vcd just waisting your blank cd...i had that same problem b4....what u need to do is re-encode it either with tmpgenc or xing encoder to make it whitebook compliant...and your nero should accept it

You have two options, (1) You can try the CD Copy function in Nero to make an exact copy of the original VCD or (2) you can convert the .dat file to your hard-disk into an mpeg file. You can do that with VCD2MPG software. If you convert it, you shouldn't have a problem with Nero giving you errors.
