Telenor's mobile network breaks downgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread
The mobile telephone network for Telenor in Oslo, Tønsberg and Lillestrøm broke down on Monday, leaving thousands of subscribers without service. Telenor blamed a program error at a base station.
The breakdown came on the same day that Telenor was making a disappointing stock market debut. All mobile traffic between Oslo's Aker River and Lysaker in the west was affected Monday morning.
The problems continued throughout the day. Specific numbers were affected, including subscribers in Tønsberg and Lillstrøm.
Telenor hoped to resume full service later Monday evening
