What was Poe's obsession with the women's eyes in his poems?

Obsession? Why not inspiration? Why is it always "obsession"? Well, I for one do not think it was obsession. More of an inspiring part of a womans body. I mean, would you read something about her palm? Or her ankle? I don't think so. Hope this helps with your question.
