WinOnCD 3.7 problem with photo album

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have made a Photo Album with WinOnCD 3.7 PE. Burning is o.k; but I can not able to play it on Pioneer 525 DVD player. In the past I made VideoCD (video not photo album) made by Easy CD Creator; and sucessfully could able to play it on Pioneer 525.

One strange thing I noticed is WinOnCD 3.7 puts .DAT files in SEGMENT folder instead of MPEGAV folder. I think Pioneer can not read .DAT if it is in SEGMENT folder.

Is any way we can tweak the WinOnCD to place the files in MPEGAV folder ?

Please help.

You should have no problems with either WinOnCD 3.7 PE and/or the Pioneer 525 DVD player. I use the same in combination and have no problems in displaying the slides of the photoalbum. I have been using various CD-RW's, e.g. Verbatim, Sony and TDK, and CD-R's such as That's write, Nashua, Traxdata and Kodak. All these give good results. As far as the .dat files in the segment folder; that's the way it should be. Don't tweak anything. The item00xx.dat files should all be 345 kB. You should also have a HTML folder. The slides should also play on your PC in the browser. What do you mean by ..... but I can not able to play it ......? Does the player not show any info on you TV-screen? E.g Video CD etc ?

Thank you Eppo R. Kooi for your reply.

My problem is, when I insert Photo album VCD in Pioneer 525, the player recoganises it as VCD but then a blank screen. Several times I tried pressing STOP and PLAY; and nothing is happenning.

Anotherthing is I have Adaptec Easy CD Creator 3.5 installed on my PC. Would this be a culprit ?

Please help.

When you insert Photo album VCD in the player do you get a blank or a blue screen? When you insert the VCD in your CDrom drive of your PC does it then automatically start to show the slides? It should. If not something went wrong with the burning or the preparation for it.

I don't think that Adaptec Easy CD Creator 3.5 creates a problem, although Nero does not like the Direct-CD part of Easy ....

did you instal the service upgrade pack for the win on 3.7? if not then that is the reason why

No, I could not able to install Service Pack. When I install SP, I can not able to start WinOnCD 3.7 at all. I have tried installing both German & English Service Pack (which I have downloaded from CeQuadrat's site), but no luck.

So, I am been trying to burn the Photo Album without installing Service Pack. So, do you think my problem is due to not installing SP ?

Please reply.

Thank you

I did not yet install the service pack and have no problems burning slides with photo album. Friendly greetings, Eppo R. Kooi.

Try to use Nero 5 instead in the VCD (not SVCD) format. It accepts only JPEG images for the moment. Use fresh CD not CDRW. It works fine for me.
