Domi can't be arsed

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Further to a few negative comments on this BB last week re: Didi D I'd just like to add that he was a bloody embarrassment on Saturday. When Hughsie and Goma both had to go off early the signs weren't good but full credit to Griff, Bartinho and young Stevie 'the kaiser' Caldwell who all put in massive displays. Conversely, Domi shows all the signs of someone who doesn't give a flying fanny fart; he bottled it on several occasions, went past his man Nil times and gave the ball away at will. When he first joined us I thought he was an absolute star, now I reckon he's just an absolute something else. Get rid YBR, get rid.

The press seem to have us linked with Inter Milan pretty strongly, could it be that Didier is on his way to Serie A? He always said Newcastle were a stepping stone to Italy.

Another thing, in the future we should steer clear of players with Didi as abbreviated first names! Who does that now rule out?

Didier Baptiste of Harchester United.....don't let him take the penalties.

Are you a Dream Team fan Softie, I have to admit to being a fan. Football and gorgeous women on a Sunday evening an hour after the televised afternoon match!

Domi's got to realise that he'll have to start performing and showing a better attitude if he wants to move anywhere decent. To Goma's credit, even though he wants out at least he's showing the right attitude. Domi, a youngster with no track record of note, and no international team outlet to prove his ability, isn't exactly going to impress potential buyers. I don't suppose Everton might take him...;-)

It's a sad thing because he is a blinding player when he can be arsed. United have to learn something from the turnover of foreigners these past few years.

Sorry Dave, I would have to disagree with part of that analysis I'm afraid.

I agree that Griff was solid enough, and Caldwell was like a rock when he came on (if Nobby hadn't scored he would have been the Daily Toon MOTM), but when Bartino was playing on the right he was a sodding liability and that all culminated in the stand up arguement he had with Given when he drifted off again and made a complete cock- up on the edge of the area to almost let Mersonary in. (I must admit, I didn't realise they used such words.....even I learned one or two new ones!)

He changed when he went into central defence after Hughes went off, and played reasonably well, but before that.............bugger me (not literally you understand)

Can't disagree with the comments about Domi though......three times he played the ball, indicated/pointed where he wanted the return and then stopped as the ball was played back to him, thus another potential attack fell apart......the one time he did move into the space, he left the ball short and it fell apart again......now if only he can combine the two.........

Apart from the Sunlung goal when Niall Quinn scored has Caldwell ever put a foot wrong for Newcastle? Seems to be so dependable for such a young lad. He's the reason why we haven't rushed out and bought a new centre back not the current state of the transfer system.

Also suprised to hear that NUFC hadn't got round to offering him an improved contract compared to the one he turned down. Pay him whatever it costs I say, he'll be cheaper than any foreigner we bring in and better as well. Now, what about Gary, can he play a bit as well. I'm sure I've heard someone say that Gay is the better prospect of the two brothers. I hope so, we've just saved about £10 mill.

ITK, Barts got some (deserved) stick on here after the Brum debacle but I thought he had a really good game on Saturday, the one incident you mentioned aside, he was solid as you like. Our car on the way home was split 50/50 on man-of-the-match between him and Nobby. Still, be bloody boring if we all agreed about everything I suppose.

Dave......both Ginola and Mersonary skinned him everytime in the first fifteen minutes or so, and on three occassoions Solano had to come back and dig him out of a hole.

As I said before, when he moved into central defence after Hughes went off he played a completely different and better game, but that first fifteen or so he was as bad as against Brum.

Do you think that Warren thinks he's perhaps out of his depth at Centre Back and that makes him think he has to perform 'in adversity', thus raising his game?
