Seedorf again, a player in a position where we have cover, why do they serve up this crap!

INTERNAZIONALE midfielder Clarence Seedorf is being linked with a surprise move to Newcastle United, but the Dutch international seems likely to stay in Milan. Italian newspaper `Tuttosport` has suggested that the 24-year-old is likely to join Bobby Robson`s Magpies, with Inter targeting Sporting Lisbon`s Delfim as a replacement.

Whilst Robson may be an admirer of the talented former Ajax, Sampdoria and Real Madrid man, it is unlikely that he could afford to bring him to Tyneside, without first off-loading some fringe players.

Although the ex-England coach did reveal he will be seeking extra funds from the hierarchy, his priority would appear to be a central defender, with injuries ravaging The Geordies` backline.

Twice a European Cup winner, with Ajax and Real, Seedorf is certainly a top-quality performer, and there have been rumours circulating that he could quit the Giuseppe Meazza when the transfer window opens in January.

"No, the news is not right, we haven`t had any confirmation," an Inter spokesperson told planetfootball.com.

"It is only in one Italian newspaper, and that is based in Turin.

"At Inter, we think Seedorf is likely to stay.

"The market opens for one month in January, so maybe yes.

"But, at this moment, we would say that Clarence is staying."

Another usual suspect Teamtalk are at it as well. Maybe we do have some dealings with Inter in the pipeline. Can't see them wanting any of our players apart from Dyer! Newcastle are said to be in talks with Inter Milan with a view to signing Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf and taking Robbie Keane on loan. Boss Bobby Robson is one of a number of Premiership managers who has enquired about Keane - Chelsea and Leeds have also been linked with the former Coventry forward - and a Newcastle representative has recently been in contact with Inter. Inter are reluctant to loan Keane out to England, preferring him to stay in Serie A, but Newcastle are hoping to tie Keane into a deal for former Real Madrid midfielder Seedorf. The Dutchman was on the bench again for Sunday's 2-2 draw with Juventus and does not appear to feature highly in coach Marco Tardelli's plans. Seedorf, who joined Inter from Real Madrid in January, would cost around £10m and is understood to be interested in a move to England. Nothing can be done until the Italian transfer market opens after Christmas but Newcastle are hoping that the dreadlocked playmaker will be made available.

I would imagine that Seedorf's agent is planning a move to Chelsea or Arsenal for Clarence, both teams that probably need him more than we do.

We'd have two Clarence's in the midfield though.

NEWCASTLE UNITED are on the trail of Falkirk's young midfielder, Mark Kerr having had him watched twice so far this season.

Representatives of the Premiership side watched The Bairns' game against Livingston at the weekend.

Kerr has already attracted the likes of Rangers and Ipswich but the 18-year-old is believed to be erring towards Newcastle.

Despite having 18 months on his contract to go, Falkirk manager Alex Totten will be hard pressed to refuse a good offer for the player.

However, with the current financial state of the North Eastern side and with a new central defender a more pressing issue, it will be unlikely that The Magpies make a quick move for Kerr.

According to Football365 we are including Robbie Keane in the Seedorf deal - where is all this money supposed to be coming from?? I think we should go for Keane anyway - on loan if we've no cash.
