Getting complained on

Have you ever been complained about at work (by a customer or co-worker)? Was their complaint justified, or just horse shit?

yeah. I worked at a "fast food" place in the food court in the mall here. The funny thing is that the food wasn't "fast." We served lasagna, sandwiches, ceaser salads, perogies etc. Everything was made to order.. so if you have a line up of people.. it can be quite a wait to get to order.

So, I am working alone. I have had steady people coming from all directions..and this one chick asks for a perogie dinner. fine, but I had no perogies on at the moment..cause I was so busy..and all alone.. and it would be a five minute wait.. So, I told her that she would have to wait for 5 minutes cause I had been too busy to put some perogies on. Easy enough..She was fine with that. Well, my next shift, my assholed manager rags on me for telling a customer "I am to busy to serve you and you'll have to wait." The guy behind the lady had complained that I was rude. Oy vey. It was total horse shit. My manager then proceeded to ecplain the "do's and don'ts" of business. God help me.

A customer threw a fit because she thought I was laughing at her. The truth is, I hadn't even begun to help her, she was the THIRD person in line. I was in between customers, throwing away some paper, when my co-worker said something funny (I forget what it was about, but it was probably some inside joke dealy). Anyways, this lady got all pissy and demanded to talk my manager. The manager acted like he was going to punish me, but once the customer left the store we both cracked up over the incident.

There were other times that I would get complained about, but most of the reasons were legit.

I tend to not take any shit from anybody so alot of customers complain that I am rude or even some have told my manager that I am scary lol. My response to that is dont give me no shit and you wont get any attitude coming from me. If you can be polite and patient then I can be a very nice person but if you even start giving me shit I will seriously fuck you over. Well that is all people have a nice day everyobdy :)

My co-workers were dealing drugs (in a toy store, mind you), and I told them that was inappropriate. I should have gone to the area manager about it, but I figured these guys, despite being sixteen and seventeen, had plenty of friends who were bigger than five-foot, two- inch me and would readily beat me up if I got their buddies fired.

The druggies actually went to the manager and told her what I'd said. And the manager (who is younger than I am. Argh) got mad at ME because she wanted to buy pot from them!

I am SO quitting.

Laurie: That's when you go to the cops and screw them all up... right after you quit of course...

The cops probably wouldn't even arrest them.

I was complained about all the time when I worked at the grocery store. I had people threaten to kick my ass, and even one lady jumped over the counter, slugged the manager and headed toward me... I hauled ass. She had thicker hands than my head, and the manager was already sprawled out on the floor.

Anyhow, I usually would just refuse service to anyone that bothered me. A few times, I got on the intercom and started yelling for the manager to "get the asshole out of my line". Customers really quiet down when someone starts screaming over the intercom.

No one ever beat me up... I'd tell them that they'd have to get through all my coworkers if they wanted to beat me up.. Also, had people threaten to call the news station on me for having long lines. I'd tell them to go ahead and call the news and then tell them to focus their cameras on the tiny type on the signs that said it doesnt include the ten items or less line.

Jobs like that don't mean you have to take shit from people... I'd just tell them where they could go. If I got fired they'd be doing me a favor.

my managers have never said anything to me, but when i got my evaluation my manager said 'we've had a few complaints about you, but hey, they've complained about me, too'.

this lady has been coming into my work for the past few weeks WITH A NOTEBOOK, writing down inappropriate stuff that the employees do. she doesn't work for the company, she's just an old lady with no life. i wasn't one of the main ones mentioned, but she mentioned that i was helpful but my hair and jewelry were inappropriate.

inappropriate for what? using a cash register? stocking shelves? whatever.
