Well, Uncle Bob, here's a question for you: If either of the candidates were thrown into the "real world" to make a living, whose chances are better? That would be Al Gore. Why? George W. Bush has already shown that everything he touches goes straight into the toilet, losing large sums of money for his backers. (Oh. I forgot. He made a huge profit off of his impounding the land around the Park at Arlington; funny how he and his partners used a fraction of that land for the actual stadium, then proceeded to develop the hell out of the rest of the impounded land to their benefit.) He also has shown that he is incapable of working an eight-hour day, let alone the 60-hour work weeks required of most professionals in this economy. Al Gore held a private sector job after he came back from his stint in Vietnam, and from all indications, he managed to keep a roof over his family's head, food on the table, and the bills paid, relying on his own initiative. I also don't worry about either Al Gore or Joe Lieberman running and hiding at "the ranch" when things get rough.

You're free to impugn Mr. Lieberman, but the background I have read about him indicates that he is respected by his associates in the House and Senate as someone who gets things done.

Julie

You're right, I'm so ashamed...Let me thank you for setting me straight. Oh, do you know where I can get some Chinese lessons? Now that I'm liberal and see the light and fully back The Al, I'll need to be brushing up on it...

Hey, Uncle Bob, I realize that you think your sarcasm is tres funny, but you can't even come up with a cogent argument, can you? This isn't TB2000 or the "improved" TB2000, so you might want to reach into your bag of tricks to post something more interesting than the usual ad hominem attacks.

Again, please answer my questions: When was the last time George W. Bush worked an eight-hour day? Do you honestly believe that he has the attention span and study skills to serve in the Presidency? Why is Bush routinely "out of the loop," as evidenced last week?

BTW, I'm hoping that Bush is confirmed, sooner than later. Why? The Republican routing of 1994 will look like a practice run in 2002, when the Democrats take back Congress. The Democrats will hold the Congress indefinitely. The White House will again be ours in 2004.

Julie

p.s. By the way, McDonald's may not be the most prestigious career path, but it's an honest day's pay for an honest day's work. It's surprising how much most people take "the little people," those who work in the service industry, for granted.

Um, (looks around sheepishly, but HONESTLY) Julie is correct...my son works at mcdonalds and he enjoys it...um, for now.

Not that I entirely agree w/Julie, specially the crack bout the old boards, but hey, I am for the honest day work part.

Hey, Uncle Bob, I realize that you think your sarcasm is tres funny, but you can't even come up with a cogent argument, can you?

No. Actually, I know my sarcasm is funny (I do not need to use the tres here, it would make me sound like a pseudointellect).

This isn't TB2000 or the "improved" TB2000, so you might want to reach into your bag of tricks to post something more interesting than the usual ad hominem attacks.

ad ho·mi·nem Pronunciation: (')ad-'hä-m&-"nem, -n&m Function: adjective Etymology: New Latin, literally, to the person Date: 1598 1 : appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect 2 : marked by an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made

I had to look it up, I'm not stoopid, I just would have used normal words and sentences likeUncle Bob, you are a sarcastic trouble-maker! You sit high atop a tower and snipe at people. You push buttons and prey on their emotions. You conservative, uncaring, rat-bastard!

Again, please answer my questions: When was the last time George W. Bush worked an eight-hour day? Do you honestly believe that he has the attention span and study skills to serve in the Presidency? Why is Bush routinely "out of the loop," as evidenced last week?

You tell me. You are his press secretary, no?

BTW, I'm hoping that Bush is confirmed, sooner than later. Why? The Republican routing of 1994 will look like a practice run in 2002, when the Democrats take back Congress. The Democrats will hold the Congress indefinitely. The White House will again be ours in 2004.

Good, but, honestly Julie, I could care less what you think.

p.s. By the way, McDonald's may not be the most prestigious career path, but it's an honest day's pay for an honest day's work. It's surprising how much most people take "the little people," those who work in the service industry, for granted.

Julie, working at McDonald's really sucks. I feel sorry for the people who have to do it. There is no way you could convince me otherwise.

Julie, your panties are twisted way too tight...

Aw crap, Julie, you made me mess up the HTML by getting me so worked up you liberal, you...

-- Anonymous, December 03, 2000

off

-- Anonymous, December 03, 2000

off? Whatever...

Uncle Bob, why do you equate "liberal" with "Democrat"? Near as I can tell, Julie identified herself as a "Democrat". I noticed a number of other GWB "supporters" doing the same thing. Or do you just call anyone who's even slightly to the left of you a "liberal"?

As to why Junior seems to be forever "out of the loop", I'm amazed that his so-called "supporters" can't see this.....do you really believe it's Junior running the show?

How naive.

-- Anonymous, December 04, 2000

How naive.

Patricia

Whatever...you assume that because I am to the right (and usually right) that I am a Bush supporter. How naive, Patricia. I am not pro-Bush. I am anti-Gore to the 25th power. If Bush can defeat Gore, and there is no alternative, then Bush it is...

Oh, but you geniuses figured that out already...

-- Anonymous, December 04, 2000

BTW Patricia,

Does this mean I can't come to your house on New Years eve?

-- Anonymous, December 04, 2000

Ohhhhh, Uncle Bob, you've outed me. I don't know if I can live with the shame.

I wish you luck with the election outcome, because your pals will need it.

Bush will be so hamstrung by the Senate split and the fact that so far, none of the Democrats seem to want to join his little "bipartisan" party, that it will be the longest four years of his life.

BTW, you might want to undo the knot in your shorts before you worry about my "bunched knickers".

Have a nice day!

Julie tells us:

“George W. Bush has already shown that everything he touches goes straight into the toilet, losing large sums of money for his backers. (Oh. I forgot. He made a huge profit off of his impounding the land around the Park at Arlington; funny how he and his partners used a fraction of that land for the actual stadium, then proceeded to develop the hell out of the rest of the impounded land to their benefit.)”

So what it is girl, toilet or Taj Mahal? Profit is profit. While you are fretting over GWB’s private business ventures the PRC has Gore propped-up like Howdy Doody.

Got body parts?

-- Anonymous, December 04, 2000

Actually, I assumed that, because the majority of what you've been posting lately is Pro-Bush, that so were you. Should have realized that, like so many Bush "supporters", it's not that you (and they) support him, but that you (and they) dislike the "other guy".

Guilty of the same thing I accused you of; my bad.

"Does this mean I can't come to your house on New Years eve?"

One thing has nothing to do with the other. If you're going to be in town, let me know. The first round is on me.
