Anyone know where I could get an bitmap image on the web of St James Park like you see on the back of a ticket, showing each section of the seating?

What do you mean Screacher?

The Popular Side? You must be a newcomer De Builder. The Popular Side is the side opposite The Stand (where the 10 minute flag flies), or to put it another way, to your left as you stand in the Leazes End. A bit pricey at 2/- for kids and 4/- for adults. Try The Gallowgate where you can save 6d and buy a bag of peanuts, or save it for 6 penn'orth of chips on the way yhem.

The Popular Side is not known for the raucous enthusiasm of the Leazes or The Gallowgate, in fact me and my mates run this joke commentary when a Newcastle goal is scored - "And the Popular Side's gone MILD!"

(Mark my words, I'm clairvoyant, one day they'll put seats everywhere and the whole ground will sound like the Popular Side.)

Thank you very much Jonno. I now see what Screacher was getting at!

Hey Ron lad, there is no way it that grounds would become all-seater! what next loads of live football games? all matches all ticket? the 1/2 million footballer? Newcastle winning the European Cup?

Did you know........other than the main stand, the Popular Side was the first to have seats and executive boxes.......people might find it difficult to believe but that was as far back as the early/mid sixties.

It was only in latter years that they were 'lost' to the developement on that part of the ground.

Jonno, you wuz robbed. A bag of chips was only fourpence back then. I know cos me and me two brothers always saved a shilling between us to get three bags on the way home.

Steph,

There was no attachment in the e-mail that you sent.

Thanks anyway, could you post it on here?

DeB,

I sent it from home using my gallowgate e-mail so maybe that was the problem. Haven't got it on my work PC so will send it again/post on here as soon as I can.
