Teamtwaddle exerts

Teamtwaddle are quoting YBR as saying that he may consider resting Shearer against Villa tomorrow. He says he may consider playing Cordone and Lua-Lua, which would certainly be interesting.

Also says that Bassedas is strugling with his ankle injury and Domi, Acuna and Glass are all pushing for a recall.

Villa play three centre backs, with wing backs. Does anyone else think Bobby may go back to the Sweeper system to match them?

YBR's been looking at my original Team Pick!

I think he'll go 3 5 2 if Villa do as well to counter the extra person in midfield.

Cordone and Lua Lua together have the capacity to scare any defence, because they know they're going to run at them. Won't be much cop at holding the ball up and keeping possession. And won't give much of a target for crosses. Means I suppose that having men wide won't be so important.

Excellent if true. I've said recently I'd like to see us play with this sort of line-up (at least sometimes, to provide variety) and I find it encouraging that YBR is considering different options. No reason why Shearer can't be a sub and possibly used later if the occasion demands. If it's true I hope he doesn't take umbrage.

Shearer should be rested, but I would have put the big lad Ameobi in the front line alongside either LuaLua or Cordone. A big un and a little un seem to work better than two litle uns.
