Praise God for everything. This sunday the first day of advent. I start my new church. St. Paul Community Church in Bozeman, Montana. I can not put into words the thrill, joy and honor I feel God has bestowed upon me to start this church. I am having so much fun. And there is no stress, we will be meeting in a mexican restaraunt, that is owned by our Director of Evangelism. She is letting us use the space for free. The restararunt is closed on sunday and monday. The building is 100 years old and at one time was a farmhouse. We will leave the chairs and tables. It will feel like we are meeting in someone's hourse. In january we start our economic development programs. Every monday we will "bring your lunch to the lord" this is also part of our outreach ministry. People can come bring their lunch and have an eecomic development class or topical bible study. Our director of Evangelism will do the first class called "How to start a business with thirty five dollars". We will have a financial planner come for the second class. called "How to invest in mutual funds for fifty dollars a month," (It's true I am doing it. Anyway my AME family pray for our success in witnessing for Christ. God has sent us everything we need, including a cpa! It is wonderful sharing the good news. We start Dec. 3rd. Keep us in prayer. Love, hope and assurance that God is all powerful.

Thank you everyone, I have gotten wonderful messages privately also. Your support and good wishes are a coat of protection along with the armor of Jesus Christ, as far as I know I am the only African-American clergy woman in my town and the entire state. So there are some good ole boys who will not be happy with this new church. But God is happy for he has called it into being and there are things in this state that desperately need power of the AME church. The AME church came to Montana in 1890 and has had a continuous ministry since then. I am proud that God has called me for such a time as this. Today my daughter and I had to go and buy a communion cup plate and advent candles. There was ONE left of both items in the whole town. We could not find a communion juice dispenser, but came upon the idea of a ketchup dispenser. We still have not found candle holders for the advent candles. We just laughed! For it is an adventure, we both thanked God for a computer so that we can order what we need. There is a young black woman we met today who spoke of the racism she has endured in the churches here. She then asked "Where do you worship?" We told her about the new church and she is coming on sunday. My daughter who is 23 is so incredible she loves the lord, and today she gave half her pay check to the church and did the bulletin for me. We sometime forget our young people love the lord. I have always believed the "great mission field" is America. I am excited to tell all of God's people about Jesus Christ. My presiding elder said be creative in looking for a space for church, don't think it has to be a big building. Well here we are at a Mexican restaraunt, that use to be a farm house 100 years ago. Keep reaching out to people who aren't in the church, and let's bring them in to our church family. Again thank you for all of your support and prayers. Love you all dearly because now I am not alone!!!!!!!

Bless the new congregation of St. Paul Community Church

To my seperated-at-birth sister in Montana, and all those who will follow her, pray for her, and struggle with her in this new endeavor of church raising, may I joyfully add my prayers and share in the celebration of this great event.

It is not about size nor stature, for where two are gathered...but that you have been obedient to that still quiet voice of the Lord and have heeded his called to cultivate where you have planted. The seed indeed will fall on fertile ground, and God will show you the fruits of your labor.

May God continue to walk beside you and guide you Rev. Rogers as you do his work in the vineyards of Bozeman, Montana. Your brother in Christ (missing since birth) Rev. John

Rev. Rogers,

I am so happy for you and exited about the work you will be doing for the Lord. What a blessing it is to have your daughter working with you so closely in ministry. May God continue to bless you in all you do.

In Christ, Carmen
