Sorry, I mean ironing board. I`ve spent far too much time on the BBS discussing football, leaving precious little time to interrupt your collective train of thought with non-footie threads, let alone finish the ironing!

Now boys and girls - I`m going away for a couple of days and I want you all to be very good, be nice to each other, and make sure we win on Saturday. I expect you to have sorted all your problems out by the time I get back! (;o)

Duty calls, and Cornwall beckons! (:o)

enjoy your w/end Gal. Tip to make it more enjoyable: don't listen to radio/tv or read any papers. Pretend we're not playing. The result will be the same on Monday as at 4:50pm Saturday.

I think I`ll take your advice Geordie! Although it will be quite hard work (I usually have to keep two conversations going as Pete glazes over whenever we`re in the company of his Mum and Dad), I will be enjoying a few days of being waited on at the Carlyon Bay Hotel. Any of you golfers played there?(:o)

I`m also rather pleased that it`s not next weekend, as Pete`s Dad is a lifelong Gunners fan. So thank heaven for small mercies!(;o)

Good to see another Cornwall/Tyneside link, being a product of that unlikely combination myself...have a good time.

Thanks Windy. Should feel right at home - forecast is for galeforce winds and heavy rain!(:o)

Hey Windy, perhaps we are related in some strange way. I too am the result of Geordie/Cornish parents. Brought up to love stotties and pasties. An unlikely combination geographically but there is a warmth to the folk of both regions that is rarely found elsewhere. Enjoy your time in Kernow Galaxy.

Galaxy
Hope you have better luck avoiding the Villa game than I did avoiding the derby. I managed it right up until about quarter to eight in the evening, then a chance remark ruined the rest of the weekend. With friends like that ..........

Must admit Pit Bill - it`s going to seem odd not listening to it and having my four pennyworth on the BBS! In fact, I`m getting to the stage where I feel cut off from the world if I haven`t got my computer to hand. Bit like Yelli and her mobile phone! (:o)

Oh well, couple more shirts to iron, then I better get organised!(:o)

Stevo, St Austell's where my mother's from, although her grandparents were Welsh. I blame all my troubles on being mocked at school for pronouncing pasties 'pahrsties'.

lol Windy, I thought 'pahrsties' was the correct pronounciation. Mines from Cawsand, on the 'forgotten' South-East Corner of Cornwall, famous for its smuggling apparently. I attribute my traumatised schooldays (and adulthood for that matter) to my old man (from Jarrow) instilling in me a love for the Toon.
