What is the best way to keep bread warm during the meal?

What is the best way to keep bread warm during a meal? I would prefer to not use electrical appliances, but rather an old fashioned approach. I have baskets and towels, but find the rolls or loaf quickly cools during dinner. Appreciate what ever ideas you can send!

Thx :)

Try purchasing a 1/2 in terra cotta tile the same size as your favorite basket. When heating the bread, place the terra cotta in the oven to pick up some inertia. Then place a towel around the tile, place bread on top, then another towel. This will prolong the warm rolls. More tiles = more inertia

Along with the terra cotta that helps keep the bottom warm ( and make sure the you do not get it to hot) , or you could dry out the bottom of your bread. Wrap the bread with a linen and wrap warm towels around that. You also want to rotate the towels, have a linen around the bread but have warming towels pref. of same color to warp around the inner linen and have others in the oven warming for when the others cool down. And keep rotating the towels untill either dinner is over or you run out of bread & you need to slather lots of butter on the crust or else no matter how long your dinner last it will still dry out.
